Computer game addiction

Digital addiction doesn’t often come from the internet, computer or phone alone, but from specific apps, games or websites. Among the most addictive apps, games and websites are those that allow two-way communication. Digital addiction is a behavioural addiction (non-substance), similar to many others.

What does digital addiction treatment look like?

Every person’s decision is the determining factor in attending the right type of program. We provide a program with multidisciplinary teams for every type of digital addiction treatment. They are based on the humanistic philosophy, bio-psycho-socio model of addiction treatment, evidence-based approach and individual-based psychotherapy. To maximise effectiveness, we work with the family and close ones.

Outpatient treatment

Outpatient treatment is the first choice for those who want to manage their substance use, prevent addiction development or want to treat their addiction to substances, gambling or other non-substance-based dependence. It is suitable for those whose state of health doesn’t require hospitalisation. Furthermore it’s appropriate for those who went through institutionalised, inpatient or community-based therapy and wants to continue with their treatment.

The treatment contains individual and group work with clients. We also offer families and close ones to help and join the treatment process of our clients. The duration of attendance is based on individual requirements. It can be a one-time consultation, short-term cooperation, or even a long-term procedure for several years. Outpatient treatment also includes counselling for families and close relatives of our clients in the form of a one-time consultation. We provide outpatient treatment in Prague, Beroun and Příbram.

Inpatient treatment

The therapy community at Mníšek pod Brdy is based on living together in a small structured group with defined boundaries. The goal of this community is to help with personal development, which helps clients find a meaningful life based on their expectations. An important factor is the feeling of becoming part of something greater than the individual and feedback alongside support given by peers. Clients and therapists are part of the community, like in a family. They are not patients or workers. Everyone has a role in the operation of the community and a responsibility to be an example for others.

The community is built on collective work, structure, on group, individual, family and art therapy. Rituals, support from relatives and the Mníšek pod Brdy community are of great significance to us.

Program CHRPA

Program Chrpa at Mníšek pod Brdy provides people with a dual diagnosis a unique program based on an integrated approach, that works with treating of addiction and mental disorders simultaneously. The program utilises group therapy and finalising treatment in a safe small group environment. By using individual and group based-therapy, clients can “find their place in the world” and improve on struggling aspects of life. They also create and develop relationships with families, and relatives, and make new relations, while strengthening work experiences. The goal of the treatment is to get the client into a meaningful and independent state of life in a natural community concerning their needs.

Post-treatment centre

The post-treatment centre in Podolí is here for clients who successfully went through the treatment process, but needed our help getting back to the real world. We offer a structured therapy program, in which clients learn to understand themselves, how to lead a healthy lifestyle and how to manage stress, relationships or work. The program includes individual consultations, group therapy, family sessions and leisure activities. We offer short-term accommodation in training apartments for those who feel like they are not ready to withstand the pressure of an independent life. People suffering from a dual diagnosis are provided with a specific program with intense individual therapies and a group for developing skills in handling stress, emotion and relationships.
