The Magdaléna public benefit organisation is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation active in the Central Bohemia Region. We provide a comprehensive system of services and assistance in the prevention and treatment of addiction to narcotic substances.
Our mission is to provide social and healthcare services and effective assistance to those addicted to narcotic substances and also to all individuals and social groups under risk. To this end, we have founded and run a network of eight structured and functionally interlinked programmes offering clients a wide range of services and high level of support and allowing us to react flexibly and in a targeted manner to the individual needs of every client. We endeavour to thus improve the quality of life of our clients so that they can lead and develop, to the maximum extent possible, a normal life and integrate into society.

We also work to minimise the health and social risks associated with the use of narcotic substances and protect society from their possible negative effects.
Our activities are financed primarily through subsidies of the Government Council for the Coordination of Anti-Drug Policy, the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, Ministry of Health, the Central Bohemia Region, Prague City Hall, Shared Regional Operational Programme funds from the European Union and from the budgets of communities in the region (town of Benešov etc.). Not the least part of funds are gained in the form of client payments, our own fundraising and donations from sponsors. We thank all donors for their kind support. If you, too, wish to support us or otherwise contribute to our activities, please go to the Friends of Magdaléna section.
